Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 9 – Since 2009, China has been the largest goods exporter globally. The modernization of China's port network is crucial to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), launched in 2013 to enhance trade between Asia, Europe, and Africa through extensive transport networks.

The Port of Singapore, the world's second-largest port, handled 39 million TEU in 2023. It connects to 600 ports in over 120 countries, with 130,000 vessels entering annually and 1,000 vessels present at any given time.

In Europe, the Port of Rotterdam, dating back to the 15th century, spans 40 km long and 10 km wide. It is a leader in autonomous shipping, using cameras and sensors for remote vessel operation.
