Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 15 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed that listening to and addressing citizens' concerns are the Royal Government's top priorities that will be carried out consistently and without interruption.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Aug. 15) during a meeting with Buddhist priests at the National Institute of Education.

"Listening to and resolving citizens' issues are essential and important tasks that must be implemented diligently. Recently, I addressed the issue of dollar exchange rate deductions with the private sector. I often hold informal meetings with them to find solutions, including discussions with the banking sector, to ease the financial burden on citizens," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued, "A few months after assuming the role of Prime Minister, we held a meeting with the private sector alongside the head of the Royal Government, during which we offered numerous favourable policies. Now, I am asking the National Bank of Cambodia to collaborate with the private sector to find solutions that will enable them to better assist their customers and alleviate financial pressures."

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei added, "We listen to the citizens, but it's apparent that some individuals struggle to implement policies correctly. While we may not always engage with the public as often as we should, when we do, some may perceive it as mere performance. We are open to that criticism. However, face-to-face meetings still provide a valuable opportunity to directly address the real issues facing our citizens."
