Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 15 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on people to express their opinions on the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA) without impacting national security or undermining national unity.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Aug. 15) during a meeting with Buddhist priests at the National Institute of Education.

"Cambodia's position on the international stage is to oppose the separation of states. If we do not support the division of other sovereign states, how can we justify dividing our own provinces?" Samdech Thipadei underscored.

The premier also noted that if the Royal Government were to withdraw from the development project, the provinces in the area might face stagnation or potential land loss due to reforestation. Nevertheless, he stated that maintaining national sovereignty remains a shared priority among the people.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet reiterated his call for all Cambodians, whether in favour or against the development project, to voice their opinions responsibly, ensuring that their actions do not compromise national security or unity.
