Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 21 – Ros Chantrabot, Advisor to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, expressed deep regret that Cambodians in the past did not value studying their own history, which made them vulnerable to ideologies and incitement that led to their downfall, culminating in the devastating wars of the 1970s.

Ros Chantrabot spoke in Fresh Talk on Saturday (Aug. 17).

The advisor underlined that during the Lon Nol era, which came to power through a coup during the Sangkum Reastr Niyum period and escalated into war, the cluster bombings left behind continue to claim Cambodian lives to this day.

In addition, Ros Chantrabot questioned why those who incited citizens to oppose the Development Triangle Area between Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Laos did not similarly protest against the US debt, which he referred to as the Cambodian blood debt.
