Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 18 – The EU is the world’s second-largest economy in nominal terms and third by purchasing power parity.
The US and China—the world’s top two largest economies—together account for nearly one-third of the EU’s international trade. China is the biggest source of EU imports (€46 billion in July), and the US, the largest market for EU exports (€47 billion).
The EU imports mainly electronics from China, while exporting medicines and cars to both the US and China. Trade with Russia has dropped to €3 billion due to sanctions. In July, the EU ran a €21 billion trade surplus.
