Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Cuban Ambassador to Cambodia Milena Caridad Zaldivar on 18 October 2024 at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, the ambassador congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia on its numerous achievements under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei. She underlined the long-standing relations and strong cooperation between Cuba and Cambodia in areas including education, health, agriculture, and sports. She reaffirmed her commitment to further enhancing and broadening relations between the two countries.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei expressed his appreciation for Cuba’s historical support, including its assistance during Cambodia’s hosting of the 32nd SEA Games and the 12th ASEAN Para Games in 2023.

Prime Minister Hun Manet praised the strong and friendly relations between the two nations and reaffirmed that Cambodian ministries and institutions are eager to collaborate with the ambassador to identify new areas of potential cooperation. He encouraged the ambassador to continue working closely with relevant Cambodian ministries to promote, expand, and strengthen bilateral ties in emerging areas of interest.

Both sides also exchanged views on several international issues within the framework of the United Nations.
