Kampong Cham (FN), Oct. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that investment in health and education must continue, speaking on Saturday morning (Oct 26) in Kang Meas District, Kampong Cham Province.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, "Investing in educational facilities and teachers is a key priority. In the annual national budget, the Royal Government consistently allocates increased funding to major priority areas, particularly health and education, which are essential. Our health sector budget includes social protection programs to enhance the well-being of our citizens."
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei underlined that the Royal Government, in collaboration with partner organisations, covers program costs, including the provision of food in certain schools across the country. He added that proper nourishment—both physical and emotional—is crucial, along with the education and training of young Cambodians to achieve higher levels of knowledge. He noted that Cambodian youths in the northeastern provinces now have the opportunity to attend quality schools and benefit from a modern curriculum.
Samdech Thipadei affirmed that the Royal Government of Cambodia will continue to expand educational access throughout the country, particularly in former conflict areas, and work to address shortages of teachers and infrastructure, with unwavering commitment.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet also expressed gratitude to teachers nationwide for their contribution to human resource development. He acknowledged their role in building a more prosperous future.
Samdech Thipadei added that education reform must be ongoing. Education cannot remain stagnant; continuous reform is essential. Teaching and learning must be regularly adjusted.
