Kep (FN), Nov. 11 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet introduced and made several recommendations to ministries, institutions, authorities, and the people for the benefit of the people of Kep.

The premier spoke on Monday (Nov. 11) during an inauguration of the Techo Santepheap Angkol Beach Road at Kep province.

The instructions of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet are as follows:

1. Urge all vendors not to increase the prices of stalls, seating, and other food items, especially during holidays and festivals. He also requested the Ministry of Tourism and the Kep Provincial Administration to cooperate and take strict action in guiding and addressing this issue to avoid any negative impacts on the province’s reputation.

Additionally, all vendors should not only focus on offering reasonable prices but should also maintain quality, hygiene, and ethics in providing services to tourists visiting Kep. This will contribute to both economic development and the overall image of the province. Tourists, as well as tourist sites in other provinces, also have a shared responsibility to maintain cleanliness and contribute to the eco-tourism efforts in the province.

2. The Ministry of Tourism, relevant institutions and ministries, and the Kep Provincial Administration are encouraged to continue their collaborative efforts to register quality geographical indications for Kep's products and to boost the living standards of Kep's
citizens.

At the same time, relevant ministries, institutions, and the Kep Provincial Administration shall increase support for salt producers to enhance both the quantity and quality of salt production to meet market demand. This can be achieved by acquiring new technical capabilities to produce high-standard salt, increasing the supply to the local market, and exporting to the global market. Furthermore, small and medium enterprises and local handcrafts are encouraged to maximise the use of locally produced salt, contributing to the growth and development of the industry.

3. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, relevant ministries and institutions, and authorities at all levels must continue to make greater efforts in promoting the upkeep and development of roads and bridges, aiming to ensure sustainable, high-quality, and efficient road connectivity across the country and with neighboring countries.

Simultaneously, the relevant ministries and institutions are urged to actively participate in the implementation of the "Kep Tourism Development Master Plan 2023-2035" with high efficiency.
