Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that those claiming the Royal Government has achieved nothing over the past year are simply unwilling to acknowledge the nation’s ongoing development and progress.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Nov. 21) during a graduation of more than 8,000 students of the Royal University of Phnom Penh at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei also highlighted Cambodia’s industrial progress, citing the inauguration of the TOYOTA factory and numerous other new investments, which have created tens of thousands of job opportunities.

Acknowledging the closure of some factories, Samdech Thipadei pointed out that Cambodia has continued to see new factories opening in succession, demonstrating the resilience and ongoing growth of its economy.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stressed the need to boost Cambodia's competitiveness through concrete policies, with a focus on human resources. He noted that Japanese companies are providing local training and developing skilled experts in Cambodia to meet the demands of the Japanese market.

It should be noted that in the first ten months of 2024, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved a total of 346 investment projects worth more than USD 5 billion, generating 268,242 job opportunities.
