Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that no country is perfect, and even superpowers have areas with issues, including rubbish and homelessness. However, he urged the people to participate in promoting the positive aspects of Cambodia to attract more tourists and investors.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Nov. 21) during a graduation of more than 8,000 students of the Royal University of Phnom Penh at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that the real value of stability, security, order, and safety can be seen through the experiences of both the people and tourists who visited various destinations during the three-day Water Festival. More than 7.74 million tourists visited Cambodia during the holidays, particularly in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kep, and other popular destinations.
Prime Minister Hun Manet also expressed gratitude to those involved in promoting Cambodia’s tourist destinations, including public and private institutions, local citizens, and influencers on social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook. He underlined that the positive influence of these influencers, with their millions of followers, is more cost-effective than traditional advertising.
The premier added that the Cambodian people must maintain a positive mindset and contribute to spreading positive messages. Sharing these positive aspects is a valuable contribution to promoting the country's national pride.
On the occasion, the premier continued that promoting Cambodia's attractions, potential, and strengths in tourism will help attract more tourists and investors to the country.
