Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, also the Chair of the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), stated that the benefits of peace Cambodia has enjoyed over the past 26 years reflect the political success of Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s leadership.

The premier spoke on Friday (Nov. 22) during the opening ceremony of the 12th General Assembly of ICAPP at the CPP’s headquarters.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "The peace that Cambodia has enjoyed over the past 26 years is a testament to the advantages we have gained through the win-win policy of Samdech Techo Hun Sen." He underlined that thanks to the peace achieved, Cambodia has become more actively involved in global peace efforts, willing to contribute to resolving ongoing conflicts in Myanmar, Ukraine, Africa, and the Middle East.

On the occasion, the premier also stated that all politicians must bear the highest responsibility for maintaining peace, stressing that peace should never be a lower priority than winning elections or achieving specific ideological goals.

"Extremist and populist politics should be condemned and should not serve as a means to gain political power," Samdech Thipadei further underscored.

Samdech Thipadei added that every country should adhere to the rule of law based on international law, promote peace, and avoid interfering in internal affairs that could lead to unrest or ultimately to undemocratic regime changes.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei continued that as a past victim of such toxic political attitudes and international relations, the Cambodian People’s Party is steadfast in its commitment to protecting peace, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and development against any form of external threat.
