Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Pany Yathotou, Vice President of Lao PDR, on Friday morning (Nov. 22) during the sidelines meeting of the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and related meetings at the Cambodian People's Party's headquarters.
On this occasion, the vice president of Laos congratulated Samdech Thipadei on his election as Prime Minister of Cambodia and commended Cambodia's rapid development across various sectors, including improved living standards for its citizens and enhanced international standing. She also praised Cambodia for its well-organised hosting of the 12th General Assembly of ICAPP and related meetings.
The vice president expressed her satisfaction with the development of good relations and cooperation between Laos and Cambodia and thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for its continued support to the Lao government and people in all circumstances.
For his part, Premier Hun Manet thanked Pany Yathotou and her delegation for attending the 12th General Assembly of ICAPP and related meetings. He expressed appreciation for the progress in relations and cooperation between the two nations, expressing strong confidence in the further strengthening and development of bilateral ties.
Both sides discussed the promotion of cooperation in various sectors, including trade and the economy, energy, security and defence, infrastructure, and people-to-people exchanges.
