Phnom Penh (FN) Nov. 24 – Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet were honored with the "ICAPP Asian Century Award" during the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) on 23 November 2024.

"In reference to the Resolution of the 42nd Standing Committee of the ICAPP adopted during the 12th General Assembly of the ICAPP officially announce on this 23rd Day of November 2024 the decision to confer the "ICAPP Asian Century Award", each to the prominent and outstanding leaders of the ICAPP: 1) Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, 2) Hon. José de Venecia Jr, Founding Chairman of the ICAPP and Former Chairperson of the ICAPP Standing Committee, 3) Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, 4) Hon. Chung Eui-yong and 5) Hon. Mushahid Hussain Sayed," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Sunday (Nov. 24).

"The prestigious award is a testimony for the recognition and respect for the honourable contributions of these highly distinguished individuals to enhancing greater political solidarity and synergy among the ICAPP member parties and partners from around world in the ongoing efforts to advance peace, security and prosperity for the people.

The closing session is presided over by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Vice-President of CPP and President of the 12th ICAPP General Assembly. The General Assembly adopted the Phnom Penh Peace Declaration, emphasizing ICAPP's role as a multilateral forum for fostering mutual understanding and addressing global challenges. Leaders highlighted the "Cambodian Model" of peace and reconciliation as a template for resolving conflicts worldwide. This homegrown model, rooted in inclusivity, innovation, and independence, reflects Cambodia's historical success in uniting factions to achieve lasting peace."
