Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that Cambodia is a tangible testament to the influence of peace, which brings about change, and that the country is willing to continue to share this hopeful experience with other nations around the world in search of peace and reconciliation.
The premier spoke on Sunday (Nov. 24) during the opening of the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that peace is the key to everything—without peace, there can be no development, progress, or future. Without peace, there are no human rights or development.
Samdech Thipadei added that Cambodia's journey toward peace has transformed the country into an unexpected model of development, based on a win-win policy with a long-term vision under the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen. The implementation of this win-win policy not only ended decades of civil war but also provided the foundation for national reconciliation and political stability, which continues to this day through pragmatic practices rooted in dialogue, reconciliation, and upliftment.
Premier Hun Manet underscored, "Cambodia is a testament to the impact of peace that has brought about change, and we are eager to continue sharing this hopeful experience with other countries around the world in search of peace and reconciliation."
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated that Cambodia clearly understands the value of peace, which is the cornerstone for ensuring the restoration and sustainable development of a resilient nation, providing the opportunity to invest in people, institutions, and the future.
On the occasion, the premier stated that during his tenure, he has established a comprehensive framework for job creation, equity, efficiency, and sustainability, known as the Pentagon Strategy-Phase I. This strategy focuses on five key priorities including people, road, water, electricity, and technology.
At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that by launching this strategy, the Royal Government aims to protect and strengthen the hard-earned peace by creating opportunities for all citizens and providing support for the community to grow together.
