Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 26 – On 14 November 2024, in Moscow, Russia, the Asian Vision Institute (AVI) and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) sparked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Key Developments of Cooperation: International Relations, Public Policy, and Sustainable Development. This MoU establishment aims to promote collaboration in the areas of education, research, and cultural exchange.
Alongside the signing of the MoU in Moscow, Chheng Kimlong, President of the Asian Vision Institute (AVI), attended the International Conference "Russia and ASEAN in the Asia-Pacific Region: Dynamics of Cooperation, Regional Processes, and Global Context" at MGIMO University. During the conference, Chheng Kimlong also delivered his speech in the plenary session on the evolving relationship between ASEAN and Russia, the importance of ASEAN's centrality and unity in the developing regional architecture of the Asia-Pacific region, and even shared his view on the role of Russia with ASEAN in advancing regional stability and prosperity by establishing the region as a leading advocate for a just and inclusive global order.
