Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted two key aspects required to address issues in Borey projects such as (1) resolving disputes and (2) ensuring the stability of the real estate sector.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Nov. 26) during the closing session of the 2024 annual meeting of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction.

“Resolving Borey disputes involves two priorities: first, resolving conflicts, and second, guaranteeing the survival of the real estate sector. We must resolve these issues without creating chaos [...] If the solution is unclear, we will not know whom to hold accountable,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei observed that land disputes have been a longstanding issue, but large-scale Borey disputes are a new phenomenon in Cambodia’s history.

On the occasion, the premier noted that out of 99 Borey projects with disputes between developers and customers, 53 have been successfully resolved.
