Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 5 – Cambodian Rice Federation announced that in 11 months of 2024, Cambodia exported 575,562 tons of milled rice, earing USD 413.90 million.

According to the Cambodian Rice Federation, these exports were carried out by 55 rice exporters to 67 destinations, of which to 26 European countries, totalled to 283,981 tons of rice, valued at USD 207.55 million. Meanwhile, China, including Hong Kong and Macau, received 109,448 tons worth USD 69.97 million. ASEAN countries, including East Timor, imported 113,792 tons valued at USD 76.34 million, while 31 other countries—Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.—exported 68,341 tons worth USD 60.04 million.

Of the rice exported, fragrant rice accounted for 74.85 per cent, white rice 20.10 per cent, parboiled rice 2.95 per cent, organic rice 1.81 per cent, and other varieties 0.29 per cent.

Notably, total rice exports in the 11 months reached 4,642,511 tons, generating over USD 1,378.73 million.
