Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 10 – Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), highlighted ten Cambodian products with high export potential, speaking on Tuesday (Dec. 10) at a press conference on the upcoming Cambodia Trade Fair (CTF) under the theme 'A New Era of Trade', scheduled for 13–16 December 2024.
Penn Sovicheat underscored, "We are focusing on products including rice, cashew nuts, pepper, mangoes, yellow bananas, cassava, longan, honey, salt, and coconuts. Some of these items are geographical indication (GI) products, while others are emerging as potential market commodities."
He added that MoC plans to collaborate with large private sector companies to introduce these products to global markets, aligning with consumption trends and the feasibility of food production.
At the press conference, Pen Sovicheat stated that the Ministry intended to promote goods under the "Made in Cambodia" brand to enhance their reputation both locally and internationally. He noted that the Royal Government and the MoC are actively working to increase production volumes, improve quality standards, and encourage the export of processed goods rather than raw materials.
