Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 13 – According to the Apsara National Authority on Friday (Dec. 13), the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced an additional grant of USD 900,000 to Cambodia for the renovation of the Bayon Temple in Angkor Thom, scheduled from 2025 to 2028.
This announcement was made during the 31st Plenary Session of the ICC-Angkor/Sambor Prei Kuk, held on Friday (Dec. 13). Kawase Taro, Director of the Multilateral Cultural Cooperation Division of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed a significant commitment to the conservation efforts at the Bayon Temple. Japan will provide this additional USD 900,000 grant to support the restoration project, which is set to take place from 2025 to 2028.
