Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 14 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Jeong Marn-ki, Chairman of Korea Industry Alliance Forum (KIAF) on Friday (Dec. 13) at the PH Grand Hall.

Chairman Jeong Marn-ki expressed his pleasure at meeting Samdech Thipadei again, following their initial meeting in the Republic of Korea about seven months ago. He informed Samdech Thipadei that he had led a delegation of 50 Korean companies to Cambodia to explore investment opportunities, fulfilling a promise made during their first meeting.

The chairman added that the companies in the delegation are interested in pursuing investments in key sectors, including engineering, infrastructure development, human resource development in automotive, technical, and technological fields, healthcare and beauty services, general trade systems, and media.

For his part, Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the KIAF delegation's visit to Cambodia and expressed his appreciation for their interest in exploring investment opportunities. He underlined the Royal Government of Cambodia’s priority policies, which focus on infrastructure development, including the construction of international airports, expressways, the improvement and modernisation of railways and deep-water ports, as well as other key infrastructure projects.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei underscored the importance of human capital development, particularly in fostering automotive and technological skills to meet the needs of both domestic and international markets.

Prime Minister Hun Manet outlined the Royal Government's policies and incentive mechanisms aimed at creating a highly competitive investment environment. He highlighted Cambodia’s commitment to connecting with regional and global markets through bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the KIAF delegation to maintain communication and collaboration with Cambodia’s relevant ministries and institutions to further explore and capitalise on investment opportunities in the country.
