Kandal (FN), Dec. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet noted that the country’s real estate sector is gradually recovering, evidenced by a significant investment in developing a city on 210 hectares of land in Akreiy Ksatr, located on the eastern bank of the Mekong River.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Dec. 17) at the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Mekong Quay City” development project in Akreiy Ksatr City, Kandal Province.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, “Investing in this mega-city project is a sound decision that clearly demonstrates the gradual recovery of Cambodia's real estate sector as we move forward with hope toward achieving the goals of Cambodia’s development.”

The premier continued that land management and urban planning are indispensable for Cambodia to become a modern, advanced, and prosperous nation. He expressed his confidence that the Mekong Quay City project will help fulfil the aspirations of the Cambodian people while promoting national economic growth. He stated that the project will enhance real estate activity, attract investment, boost trade and hospitality, and promote Cambodia's culture and tourism.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei added that the construction of infrastructure and bridge connections not only facilitates travel but also stimulates economic activity. He expressed optimism that, in the future, the eastern bank of the Mekong River will experience significant development, with high-rise buildings comparable to those in Phnom Penh. He also encouraged the private sector to actively participate in the development of the eastern Mekong River region.
