Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 18 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, head of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), voiced strong support for the Royal Government of Cambodia's ongoing reforms. He also called for sustained reform efforts within both the Party and the government.
Samdech Techo spoke on Wednesday (Dec. 18) during a closing conference on 2024 achievements and future directions for CPP Mass Movement Committee, held at the CPP’s headquarter.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also highlighted that these reforms must go hand in hand within both the Party and the Royal Government to be successful.
At the closing ceremony, Samdech Techo also urged the continuation of the implementation of the party’s political program and the Royal Government’s Pentagon Strategy Phase I. He particularly urged swift action to address socio-economic challenges stemming from the COVID19 crisis, aiming to strengthen family economies and improve people's daily lives.
On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen also called for the continued strengthening of diplomatic relations and cooperation. He underscored fostering peace, friendship, and people-to-people exchanges, particularly among youth, with neighboring and friendly countries. These efforts, he noted, should be guided by principles of peace, mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality, and shared benefits.
Governance reform remains a top priority for the 7th Royal Government, led by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. Furthermore, inactive officials and those violating the law have been held accountable through administrative measures and state laws.
