Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 18 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), called on his compatriots to uphold peace and stability in Cambodia to safeguard the nation’s hard-earned achievements and to continue building new milestones for the country and its people.

Samdech Techo spoke on Wednesday (Dec. 18) during a closing conference on 2024 achievements and future directions for CPP Mass Movement Committee, held at the CPP’s headquarter.

Samdech Techo urged party members to remain committed to creating further progress for the nation, fulfilling their duties within institutions at all levels. He underlined the need to work together to preserve peace and social stability at all costs while striving to sustain macroeconomic growth. He also highlighted the interdependence between political stability and macroeconomic stability, stating that one cannot exist without the other.

Meanwhile, Samdech Techo affirmed that, under the leadership of the CPP, Cambodia has achieved complete peace, which has been the cornerstone of the country’s reconstruction and development. This peace has enabled Cambodia to transition into a modern economy integrated into the global market while demonstrating remarkable resilience in the face of challenges.

Samdech Techo added, without peace, there can be no development, and without sustainable, inclusive, and equitable development, there is no foundation to maintain peace and stability. This is a concrete reality and a constitutional principle that all party officials must understand and uphold.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo urged party officials to dedicate themselves to safeguarding peace and advancing development both within the party and state frameworks. He stressed the importance of adhering to the CPP’s vision and principles to protect peace and promote Cambodia's progress. With peace, citizens enjoy freedom, and peace allows the nation to grow and prosper.
