Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that in 2025, the Royal Government will implement new policies and incentive packages aimed at boosting investment in the country's border areas.
The premier received a courtesy call by representatives from Cambodian Oknha Association and Housing Development Association of Cambodia on Wednesday (Dec. 25) at the Peace Palace.
Taking this occasion, the premier expressed his high appreciation and gratitude to the Cambodian Oknha Association and the Housing Development Association of Cambodia for their contributions to the border infrastructure fund, focusing on the construction of the border ring road in the past. The Prime Minister noted that the construction and development of infrastructure along the border, especially the border belt road, is historic.
The premier stated that it not only connects infrastructure but also serves as a pillar of national defence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, promotes the development of the Northeastern region, and allows all Cambodian generations to travel to border areas that had never been visited before.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reiterated the Royal Government's firm commitment to safeguarding the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty for future generations. He also outlined plans to transform the Northeastern border areas into economic zones with a focus on agro-industrial development.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet urged and encouraged local investment companies to seek more opportunities and possibilities to invest in these areas. He emphasised that in 2025, the Royal Government will introduce policies and incentive packages to stimulate investment in border areas, especially in the agro-industrial sector.
Samdech Thipadei commended the efforts of the teams building and developing infrastructure along the border, acknowledging their determination to overcome obstacles and challenges to successfully achieve the planned objectives.
