Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 26 – Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call by Shaharuddin Onn, Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia, and exchanged views with the envoy on strengthening Cambodia-Malaysia bilateral ties on 24 December 2024.

"Recalling the fruitful outcomes of the official visit to Malaysia by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in February this year, Minister Prak Sokhonn was pleased to note the increased support for Cambodian rice in Malaysia. He shared Ambassador Shaharuddin's satisfaction with the growing trade, investment, tourism and cooperation on labour, education and emerging sectors like the Halal industry between the two countries," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Dec. 25).

"The minister exchanged views with Ambassador Shaharuddin on the possibility of convening the Third Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation in the near future, and also emphasized the importance of enhancing defence and security cooperation, in particular on combating transnational crimes, including online scams.

Minister Prak Sokhonn congratulated Malaysia on its assumption of ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, pledging Cambodia's full support and cooperation."
