As a Vietnamese national, the ambassador expressed pride in contributing to the close-knit relationship between Viet Nam and Cambodia over the last 44 years. He praised the remarkable achievements in all sectors that the Cambodian people have attained under the reign of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and the wise leadership of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) has brought lasting peace, political stability, and security, as well as strengthened and expanded economic development.

The ambassador praised the day-to-day progress in Cambodia's diplomacy, which has enhanced Cambodia’s international prestige and its important role on the global stage.

The ambassador continued by telling Samdech Techo Hun Sen that he was happy to see the progress in relations between the two countries over the 57 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties. These improvements have been evident across all fields, including politics, diplomacy, military security, education, parliamentary relations, provincial governance, and people-to-people diplomacy, which form the solid foundation for the development of both countries.

The outgoing ambassador expressed strong hopes that under the leadership of the CPP, led by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, To Lam, relations between the two countries will continue to grow stronger.

In response, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the ambassador’s efforts to strengthen and expand cooperation with Cambodia, particularly through coordinating efforts related to the Cambodian King’s visit to Viet Nam, To Lam’s visit to Cambodia, and participation in key events, such as the 12th International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) General Assembly and the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), hosted successfully by Cambodia.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his satisfaction at the increase in economic and trade relations between Cambodia and Viet Nam. He stated that economic relations are the cornerstone of strong political ties.

Samdech Techo stressed that the two countries should continue to enhance people-to-people exchanges through tourism, particularly via land routes.

He added that during the 57 years of Cambodia-Viet Nam diplomatic relations, the CPP has ruled for 45 years, transforming border areas into zones of peace, development, and cooperation.

It is notable that during this meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, on behalf of the king, conferred the Royal Order of Sahametrei Grand Cross upon the ambassador.

The ambassador thanked the king for the award, describing it as a priceless honour for himself and the Vietnamese Embassy.
