Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Hang Chuon Naron to review and establish a library to archive research works or theses by previous graduates. This repository would serve as a resource for future students, providing a foundation for new discoveries.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Dec. 26) during a graduation of more than 1,000 students of the University of Human Resources, held at the National Institute of Education.
“In regard to this initiative, I would like to advise Minister Hang Chuon Naron to assess its feasibility. It is essential to establish a library where future students can access the works of their predecessors to support their research endeavours,” the premier underscored.
Taking this occasion, Samdech Thipadei encouraged professors to continue enhancing their capabilities and expanding their scientific research in their respective fields. He emphasised that this would improve teaching efficiency and effectively bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Research, the premier noted, plays a crucial role in transforming classroom theories into practical solutions in the workplace, whether in the public or private sector. He further highlighted that the outcomes of such research could contribute significantly to socio-economic policies and should be published in regional and international scientific journals.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei urged all graduates to strive for continuous learning and research, focusing on knowledge, skills, experience, ethics, and responsibility—key pillars for a prosperous future. He reminded graduates that academic knowledge alone is insufficient and must be paired with practical work experience, creativity, and innovative thinking to adapt to real-world circumstances. This combination, he stated, would empower graduates to become valuable contributors to their institutions and society.
