Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 3 – On 2 January 2025, Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call by Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cambodia.

Minister Prak Sokhonn underscored the importance of high-level exchanges, especially the official visits of Samdech Techo Hun Sen to Cuba, and the Prime Minister of Cuba to Cambodia in 2022, which added great value to the long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Cuba. Both sides applauded the progress on Cambodia-Cuba cooperation in health, agriculture, education, sports, and information exchange, and affirmed commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties," according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Friday (Jan. 3).

"Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed appreciation for Cuba's support in transforming Luang Mae Hospital into a specialized cancer treatment centre and welcomed the exchange and sharing of medical expertise.

Both sides discussed the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Cuba with meaningful joint activities. They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of common interest, and reaffirmed their shared commitment to continued mutual support on the international stage."
