Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 9 – Jeremy Zwinger, President and CEO of The Rice Trader (TRT) and Founder of the World Rice Conference (WRC), expressed his support for Cambodia to host the 2025 World Rice Conference.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Jeremy Zwinger on 8 January 2024 at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Jeremy Zwinger praised Cambodia’s rapid development across all sectors, with remarkable progress in rice, logistics, and other infrastructure sectors, and conveyed his optimistic confidence in Cambodia’s potential.
The president also congratulated Cambodia for winning the prestigious World’s Best Rice Award at a conference held in Manila, the Philippines, in November 2024. He affirmed his support for Cambodia to host the World Rice Conference in 2025. Additionally, he expressed his pleasure in his collaboration with Cambodia in promoting the rice sector.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei expressed his gratitude to Jeremy Zwinger for supporting Cambodia’s hosting of the World Rice Conference in 2025, and underscored that rice remains a long-term strategic crop for Cambodia, even as the country progresses toward embracing industrial and manufacturing sectors.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also underlined the government’s key policies aimed at boosting Cambodia’s rice production to enhance competitiveness, as well as developing infrastructure and logistics to facilitate transportation and reduce costs.
