Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 9 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Keith Magnus, Chairman of Evercore Asia, on 8 January 2024 at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, Evercore Asia’s chairman expressed his admiration for the success of Cambodia development across all sectors and highly valued the Royal Government's Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I aimed at achieving Cambodia Vision 2050. He also respectfully provided an overview of the company’s business operation to Samdech Thipadei, and conveyed the company's interest in enhancing cooperation with Cambodia in renewable energy, health and tourism.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei expressed his appreciation for the company's interest and outlined Cambodia's energy development policies. He highlighted that Cambodia currently uses 62% renewable energy, with a target of reaching 70% by 2030.

Samdech Thipadei also outlined the policies aimed at enhancing the health sector, such as strengthening and expanding health services nationwide. He added that Cambodia still has untapped potential in other sectors which the company can take into consideration, including agriculture, manufacturing, finance, and banking.

In this regard, the premier encouraged the company to continue engaging with ministries and institutions and fostering the connections and collaboration between the international private sector and Cambodia private sector.
