Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 10 – The American University of Phnom Penh (“AUPP”) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Hut Meilang, a talented business student, who has been named the Global Ambassador for Huawei’s Seeds for the Future 2025.
This milestone marks the second consecutive year that an AUPP student, representing Cambodia, has been selected for this prestigious honor. Meilang follows in the footsteps of Mong Chanrattnak, the first AUPP ITM student to win the Global Seeds Ambassador title in 2024, continuing a legacy of excellence and global recognition for AUPP.
This prestigious title highlights her exemplary dedication to innovation, digitalization, entrepreneurship, and sustainability—values that the program champions globally.
The Global Ambassador Program, a flagship initiative within Huawei’s Seeds for the Future alumni network, unites outstanding individuals from all cohorts since the program’s inception in 2008. Its mission is to foster connections, empower young leaders, and amplify the impact of their innovative endeavors.
Hut Meilang’s selection underscores her commitment to these ideals and her ability to represent Cambodia on the international stage.
In her heartfelt acceptance, Meilang expressed deep gratitude for the incredible support she received throughout her journey, “I am deeply honored to have been selected as a Global Ambassador for the Huawei Seeds for the Future program. This achievement is not just mine, but a shared success made possible by the incredible support from everyone who stood by me.
My heartfelt thanks go to everyone involved in this journey—family, friends, students from various universities. Most of all, I am extremely grateful and thankful to MPTC, Huawei Cambodia, and AUPP who went to great lengths to help me throughout this journey. Your unwavering encouragement and tireless efforts have meant the world to me.”
Meilang reflected on the overwhelming support she received during the voting process, particularly the unity shown by the Cambodian community, “Never in my life would I have imagined receiving such overwhelming support. I was profoundly touched as I scrolled through the comment sections, seeing people—many of whom I’ve never met—mentioning my name with heartfelt encouragement. This outpouring of support comes from a collective love and belief in the potential of Cambodian youth, and it inspires me to strive even harder to live up to everyone’s expectations.”
In just three days, Meilang garnered over 7,500 votes, a testament to the resilience, solidarity, and community spirit of Cambodia. She views this accomplishment as proof of the power of collective action and a reaffirmation of the Khmer saying, “ខ្មែរធ្វើបាន” (“Khmer can do”).
As a Global Ambassador, Meilang is determined to showcase the talent and strength of Cambodian youth on the global stage. She pledged to work tirelessly in her new role to foster innovation, collaboration, and cross-cultural exchange:
