Pursat (FN), Jan. 20 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed gratitude to Nek Oknha Leng Navatra and other benefactors for purchasing rice from local farmers during the price crisis. He added that every contribution, big or small, serves as valuable support and encouragement for farmers during this critical time.
The premier spoke on Monday (Jan. 20) at the inauguration of the newly established village “Bun Rany Sen Chey Damnak Troyeung” in Pro’ngel commune, Phnom Kravanh district, Pursat province.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated that the philanthropists' generosity is far more meaningful than the actions of those who, while claiming patriotism abroad, seek to persuade foreign nations to cut aid and restrict Cambodia's state markets.
It should be noted that on 15 January 2025, Nek Oknha Leng Navatra, CEO of Galaxy Navatra Group, pledged to purchase 1,000 tons of rice to provide free annual rice supplies to Borey Leng Navatra 6A buyers in need. Beyond Leng Navatra, numerous philanthropists, including artists and online sellers, have also committed to buying rice from struggling farmers. While a short-term fix, this initiative offers vital relief and exemplifies solidarity in difficult times.
