Pursat (FN), Jan. 20 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that it is not wrong for farmers to express their opinions on Facebook or other social media platforms regarding agricultural prices.
The premier spoke on Monday (Jan. 20) at the inauguration of the newly established village “Bun Rany Sen Chey Damnak Troyeung” in Pro’ngel commune, Phnom Kravanh district, Pursat province.
Samdech Thipadei underlined that the Royal Government supports farmers' right to voice their concerns and is committed to resolving the issues they raise.
Prime Minister Hun Manet highlighted that citizen feedback on platforms such as Facebook is valuable, as it helps the government address issues effectively. "There is nothing wrong with farmers or citizens expressing their concerns. Our ministry is actively working on them because these opinions assist in finding solutions," he stated.
Premier Hun Manet added that the Royal Government's approach to the agricultural sector goes beyond just addressing price issues. To support the sector's growth, the government is also focused on providing land, organising water systems, and developing other essential infrastructure.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei criticized opposition claims that the government has done nothing for farmers, calling these accusations unfair and shortsighted, as they overlook the government's substantial efforts to support the agricultural sector.
