Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet decided to extend the provision of “special benefits” under the framework of the “Special Investment Promotion Program in Sihanouk Province 2024” until the end of 2025.

This extension aims to provide benefits to investors in Sihanoukville Province, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, seen by Fresh News on Friday (24 January).

Under the extension, businessmen and investors who apply for and implement projects or activities in 2025 will be eligible for the following categories (1). Investment or business projects related to stalled buildings; (2). Investment or business projects not related to stalled buildings; and (3). Expansion of existing investment projects or business activities in the province. These projects will receive “special benefits” such as simplified procedures, special incentives, and other favourable conditions.

Accordingly, the Preah Sihanouk Province Investment Promoting Working Group (SHVIP), an inter-ministerial and institutional mechanism, will continue to oversee, coordinate and implement this special program. This includes measures to address stalled investment projects in Sihanoukville Province, by operating as a “One Window Service.”

On 31 January 2024, the Royal Government announced the official implementation of the “Special Investment Promotion Program in Sihanouk Province 2024” to encourage investment and business activities and accelerating momentum in Sihanoukville Province.
