Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 6 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet dismissed rumors of an upcoming ministerial reshuffle, stating that he has no intention of replacing any ministers. He urged an end to the speculation and called on officials to remain focused on their duties.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Feb. 6) at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications's conference to review 2020-2024 work on the journey toward digital transformation, and outline future directions.

Samdech Thipadei noted that rumors about ministerial changes had circulated since the end of 2024, with claims that five to six ministers would soon be replaced, leading some officials to delay their work while waiting for new leadership.

"I want to clarify that the appointment of ministers or members of the Royal Government is solely the right and responsibility of the prime minister. If the prime minister is unaware of any changes, there is no need for concern. If I am not aware of any planned changes, it means no ministry is being reshuffled at this time. So, let this matter rest," Samdech Thipadei added.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei urged all ministry officials to focus on their work and not be overly concerned about potential ministerial changes. He continued, “Do not waste time speculating about leadership changes, as the authority to appoint officials rests solely with the prime minister. Be cautious—if you focus too much on who might lead, you may neglect your own responsibilities. In the end, the minister may decide to replace you instead.”

The premier affirmed that all ministers are currently performing their duties diligently and that stability must be maintained within the government.
