Manila (FN), Feb. 10 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet proposed establishing new flight connections between Cambodia and the Philippines, particularly to key tourist destinations in Cambodia, to enhance both cultural and coastal tourism.
The premier spoke on Monday (Feb. 10) at Cambodia-Philippines Business Forum in Manila, the Philippines.
On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei stated that Cambodia and the Philippines are actively cooperating to promote tourism and facilitate travel by increasing connectivity, including the potential renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tourism Cooperation for 2025-2028.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, “I have discussed with the president of the Philippines the possibility of increasing direct flights on the Manila-Phnom Penh route, as well as exploring connections between Manila and Siem Reap, and linking key tourist destinations in both countries, including Cebu and Siem Reap. I also agreed with Neak Oknha Kith Meng to invite the leadership of Philippine airports to explore further opportunities to strengthen air connectivity between Cambodia and the Philippines.”
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined that Cambodia offers a wealth of tourism experiences beyond Angkor Wat, including coastal attractions and numerous cultural heritage sites. He encouraged Filipino investors to collaborate with Cambodia in developing its unique tourism sector, unlocking its vast potential, and contributing to the economic growth of both nations.
