Kandal (FN), Feb. 11 – Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced to fund the construction of two four-story school buildings and provide 100 million riels per month for one year to support Wat Preah Int Samki Thorma’s operations.
Samdech Techo spoke on Tuesday (Feb. 11) during the inauguration of various achievements on the premises of Wat Preah Int Samki Thorma in Kandal province.
Samdech Techo underlined that this contribution would alleviate two-thirds of the difficulties faced by Wat Preah Int Samki Thorma, which currently spends its entire monthly budget of approximately 160 million riels on salaries for teachers, doctors, and other school-related expenses. He added that this support would benefit a total of 232 teachers and administrators, improving their livelihood.
On the occasion, Samdech Techo also highlighted that, given the current need for 27 classrooms, he had decided to demolish the temporary school building and replace it with a new four-story school building with 48 rooms, which will better serve the educational needs of students and monks at Wat Preah Int Samki Thorma.
Under the strong and sincere efforts to make Wat Preah Int Samki Thorma a place for worship and the observance of Buddha’s teachings, as well as for cultivating knowledge for monks, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen will continue their support for the temple's development.
