Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 15 – In January 2025, Cambodia’s trade volume with the international market exceeded USD 5 billion, marking a 24.6 per cent increase compared to January 2024, when it stood at over USD 4 billion, according to a report by the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia, seen by Fresh News on Saturday (Feb. 15).
The report stated that in January 2025, Cambodia’s exports totalled over USD 2.3 billion, reflecting a 17.3 per cent increase. Meanwhile, imports reached USD 2.7 billion, up by 31.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
China remains Cambodia’s largest trading partner, with a trade volume of approximately USD 1.5 billion. Cambodia exported goods worth over USD 100 million to China, a rise of 40.5 per cent, while imports from China to Cambodia exceeded USD 1.4 billion, reflecting a 34.7 per cent increase.
The United States ranks as Cambodia’s second-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade nearing USD 900 million—an increase of 38.6 per cent. Cambodia’s exports to the US surpassed USD 868 million, while imports from the US to Cambodia totalled over USD 23 million.
According to the report, Cambodia’s trade with major partners such as Viet Nam, Thailand, Japan, Canada, Spain, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom, also recorded significant growth.
