Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on Cambodian and Thai troops to maintain their current positions and patrols without any changes, emphasizing that border matters should be handled by the countries' border committees, not the military.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at the graduation for students of the Asia Europe University, held at Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated, “I urge both [Cambodian and Thai] forces to support their governments in resolving border issues through legal and technical mechanisms, not through military action or force.”

On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei also urged the Thai and Cambodian armies to maintain strong daily relations, work together to resolve any issues, and uphold the status quo without creating tensions.
