Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the agricultural plan, written by Sam Rainsy and published online on 26 January 2025, was generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
The premier spoke on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at the graduation for students of the Asia Europe University, held at Diamond Island Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Samdech Thipadei underscored, “I initially chose not to respond, but now that he has spoken in such a disrespectful manner, it’s time to address this. Recently, I discussed our agricultural policy and the initiatives we are implementing. However, Sam Rainsy responded by calling me ‘stupid’ and proceeded to write an article, claiming that this was a great policy. He published it in an online newspaper, but when analysed, it was found to be 79 per cent AI-generated. AI wrote it for him. I must say, it’s embarrassing, especially for the younger generation, because it was the IT experts at the Ministry of Agriculture who discovered this.”
Samdech Thipadei underlined that the increasing prevalence of modern AI tools, including ChatGPT and DeepSeek, which allow users to input a prompt in English and generate responses accordingly. However, advanced detection tools used by the IT team can analyse texts to determine whether they were written by a human or generated by AI.
