Banteay Meanchey (FN), Feb. 24 – The Investigation and Crime Suppression Command of the Ministry of Interior stated that on 22-23 February 2025, the specialised task force from the command conducted on-site inspections at two locations in Samaki Meanchey Village, Poipet District, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province. These operations were carried out following an extensive investigation spanning over three months.

This operation was carried out under the direct and strict orders of Sar Sokha, Minister of Interior, as well as under the direct leadership of the General Commissioner of National Police.

During the raid, authorities discovered a total of 230 foreign nationals, including 68 females. Among them were 123 Thai nationals, including 59 females. These individuals were found in hiding and engaged in illegal online activities, with a Chinese national identified as the leader. The individuals were living in standard conditions and had willingly acknowledged their involvement in these unlawful activities.

For those 123 Thai nationals, the Cambodian National Police will seek cooperation from the relevant Thai authorities to facilitate further legal proceedings and identify key suspects within the criminal network to work towards apprehending the perpetrators, ensuring full compliance with Cambodian laws.
