Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 24 – Yin Li, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, praised the rapid progress in all sectors in Cambodia.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Yin Li on Monday (Feb. 24) at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, Yin Li expressed his admiration and keen interest in Cambodia’s swift development, particularly in maintaining peace, political stability, socio-economic growth, and improving the people’s living standards.
He conveyed his confidence that, under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei, Cambodia’s economy would continue to expand and strengthen. He also highly valued the longstanding friendship between the two nations and the deepening cooperation at all levels between China and Cambodia across state, party, and people-to-people frameworks.
Yin Li further informed Samdech Thipadei that the purpose of his visit, along with his delegation, was to advance the implementation of key agreements reached by the top leaders of both countries and to further promote practical cooperation. He also emphasised Beijing’s willingness to enhance collaboration with the Phnom Penh administration, the Siem Reap administration, and other provincial authorities.
In response, the premier expressed his satisfaction and deep appreciation for the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation across all sectors. Samdech Thipadei also extended his gratitude to the Chinese government for its continued support of Cambodia’s socio-economic development, as well as to Chinese investors who have made significant contributions to Cambodia, particularly in physical infrastructure projects such as expressways, the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport, and the development of special economic zones.
Both sides also discussed further strengthening and expanding cooperation in various key areas, including politics, economy, trade, investment, digital technology, arts and culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
