Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on ambassadors, both those stationed in Cambodia and Cambodian ambassadors abroad, to actively promote Cambodia’s reputation, highlight its tourism destinations, and address safety concerns for citizens.
The premier spoke on Thursday (Feb. 27) at the closing of the 2024 annual meeting of the Ministry of Tourism at OCIC, Phnom Penh.
“I would like to take this opportunity to call on ambassadors in Cambodia, as well as Cambodian ambassadors abroad, to help promote Cambodia’s reputation, showcase its tourism destinations, and provide accurate information on safety issues to our citizens,” Samdech Thipadei underscored.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined that Cambodia is not a hub for kidnapping, online crime, or human trafficking, as some reports suggested. The Royal Government remains highly vigilant, proactive, and takes swift action to prevent Cambodia from becoming a target for such illicit activities.
Samdech Thipadei acknowledged that while Cambodia has faced challenges in the past, the government continues to implement strong measures to address them.
