Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that that over the past 19 months, the seventh-mandate Royal Government has consistently introduced and implemented successive reform programs and mechanisms to address various challenges.
The premier spoke on Tuesday (Mar. 4) during Cambodia Outlook Conference 2025, held at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.
“Over the past 19 months, the Royal Government has continued to introduce and implement successive programs, reform mechanisms, and response measures. Specifically, regarding the six priority policy programs and the five key measures, the Royal Government has established an implementation mechanism and maintained continuous monitoring and evaluation. So far, we can proudly say that these efforts have yielded significant results,” the premier underscored.
Aiming to promote economic diversification, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen resilience, the Royal Government is preparing to implement the “Program to Promote Competitiveness, Increase Diversification, and Strengthen Resilience for Economic Growth in a Highly Uncertain Global Environment 2025–2028,” which will focus on three key pillars.
As outlined by Samdech Thipadei, the three main pillars such as (1) a sector-specific economic support program for the short to medium term, featuring sharp and targeted policy measures; (2) a program to enhance competitiveness, increase diversification, and strengthen resilience to tackle structural, complex, and cross-sectoral challenges; and (3) a program to facilitate Cambodia’s graduation from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category, ensuring a smooth transition.
Taking the opportunity, the premier also expressed great interest in the findings of the CDRI study and the three key topics under discussion. The study introduced the "New Growth Strategy," which integrates economic growth policies in priority sectors with comprehensive structural reforms.
