Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 4 – Green Island Agricultural Development (Cambodia) Limited issued a public notice regarding the Chinese Employees at CBA Banana Plantation in Okreung Senchey District, Kratie Province, use Firearms to Shoot and Kill Villagers' Livestock.
"The Green Island Agricultural Development (Cambodia) Limited and Cambodian Banana Company (the "CBA") are entirely separate legal entities. There exists no direct or indirect equity relationship, management affiliation, or business dealings between the two companies," according to the public notice seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Mar. 4).
"The agricultural concession land in Okreang Senchey District, Kratie Province, is legally and exclusively owned by Green Island. However, since 2021, CBA has illegally occupied and controlled this land. All unlawful activities occurring on the land during this period-including but not limited to shooting livestock with firearms, illegal logging, and violent evictions-are solely attributable to CBA.
Green Island has never participated in nor condoned such acts, and we strongly condemn these actions. We urge relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate CBA's illegal possession of firearms, land encroachment, and other violations, and to uphold villagers' rights and social justice in accordance with the law, Green Island pledges full cooperation with all investigations.
Since the illegal occupation of our concession land, Green Island has actively pursued legal measures to safeguard our rights. We are currently engaged in judicial proceedings to regain actual control rights over the land. We firmly believe in the fairness of the legal system and call on all parties to respect judicial procedures and cease all illegal activities immediately.
Green Island hereby warns the public that CBA has fraudulently used our company's name to promote so-called 'cooperation projects related to the concession land. Any project claiming association with Green Island or the concession land without our official written authorization is fraudulent. We urge all stakeholders to rigorously assess collaboration risks and avoid unnecessary losses.
Green Island strictly adheres to the principles of lawful operations and community coexistence. We resolutely oppose all forms of violence and illegal conduct.
