Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 7 – The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) successfully hosted its highly anticipated Alumni Engagement Day, a dynamic event designed to forge connections between students and an inspiring network of successful AUPP alumni. Held on 5 March 2025, at the AUPP Technology Center, the event welcomed AUPP and its partners’ students to gain insights from AUPP distinguished graduates excelling across diverse sectors, including government, education, and business.
The event featured an interactive panel discussion aimed at empowering students to take charge of their futures. AUPP alumni, recognised for their leadership and innovation, shared their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs, offering invaluable guidance to the aspiring leaders of tomorrow.
Sreynea Chea, social media influencer & businesswoman, joined this event as a panelist. She reflected fondly on her time at AUPP, reminiscing about the vibrant campus and its refreshing environment, which she has missed since graduating three years ago. Her heartfelt advice to others is: "Believe in yourself and embrace the journey. Mistakes are a natural part of growth, so don’t be afraid to make them. The key is to persist and never give up."
Participants expressed their excitement at having direct access to role models who have successfully transitioned from academics to impactful careers. The event fostered a sense of belonging and motivation among students, encouraging them to leverage the extensive AUPP alumni network as they embark on their professional journeys.
One AUPP student remarked, “Today's event was incredibly insightful. Hearing alumni share their experiences and strategies for overcoming challenges inspired me greatly. Their valuable advice on networking, personal growth, and career development gave me fresh perspectives. I look forward to more such engaging opportunities, as they significantly enhance our learning experience as students.”
The day was not only about networking; it was also an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with the university and each other, fostering a sense of community and shared mission. AUPP has more than 500 alumni, many of whom are pursuing postgraduate studies at top universities abroad, such as Harvard University, Stanford University, and King’s College London, while others are thriving as leaders in their respective careers.
AUPP continues to prioritise initiatives that enhance the student experience and prepare them for the complexities of the modern workforce. Through events like Alumni Engagement Day, the university is dedicated to nurturing a culture of collaboration and support that assures student success beyond graduation.
