Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 13 – Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, Ambassador of Finland to Cambodia, pledged to further enhance and expand cooperation between Cambodia and Finland.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos praised Cambodia’s remarkable progress across various sectors. She congratulated the Royal Government of Cambodia on its numerous achievements over the past two decades and highly appreciated the strong relations between Finland and Cambodia. She expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation in areas such as demining, agriculture, and land registration, and committed to further strengthening and expanding the cooperation between the two nations.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet congratulated Ambassador Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos on her appointment and extended heartfelt thanks to the Finnish government and its people for their contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.

The premier commended the good relations between the two countries, now spanning 55 years, and expressed confidence that the ambassador’s tenure would further enhance and deepen bilateral relations and cooperation.

Samdech Thipadei also outlined the Royal Government’s policies and measures aimed at improving the livelihoods and well-being of Cambodians through enhancing healthcare, education, vocational training, job creation, digital connectivity, and sustainable development.

Both sides discussed areas for cooperation, including digitalisation, environment, trade, investment, and business. They emphasized the importance of innovation and the development of an ecosystem to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Samdech Thipadei encouraged the ambassador to maintain close communication and work collaboratively with Cambodian ministries and institutions to further strengthen the partnership between Cambodia and Finland.
