Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 14 – Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen stated that Cambodia's king, despite having the least wealth among monarchs, possesses the greatest compassion. Therefore, the Cambodian Oknha Association’s contributions to the king and queen mother are crucial in enabling them to fulfil their royal duties and support the underprivileged.

Samdech Techo spoke on Friday (Mar. 14) during a solidarity dinner with the Cambodian Oknha Association at Premier Centre Sen Sok in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed gratitude to the association for consistently providing donations, allowing the king to carry out humanitarian efforts.

Samdech Techo underscored, “The support provided by the Oknha Association to the king and queen mother has been directed toward helping the poor, alleviating hardships, and contributing to national development.”

Additionally, Samdech Techo Hun Sen praised the Cambodian Oknha Association for its involvement in various humanitarian initiatives, including contributions to the Cambodian Red Cross, hospitals, and sports programs, all of which demonstrate their commitment to social progress.

As of 31 December 2024, the Cambodian Oknha Association had 446 members, marking a 26 per cent increase from 2023. This includes eight senior advisors, 45 board members, 34 active members, and 354 supporting members, with ranks comprising 5 individuals holding the title of Lok Neak Oknha, 140 Neak Oknhas, and 301 Oknhas.

In 2024, the association carried out numerous charitable activities, donating approximately 5.5 million baht—an increase of 876 per cent compared to 2023.
