Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 18 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Senate President, expressed his wish for 11 European countries to help strengthen and further develop the skills of Cambodian human resources. He underlined that this support aligns with Cambodia's aspiration for continued growth and development.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen received a courtesy call by Salah Essa, Honorary Consul of Cyprus to Cambodia, on Tuesday (Mar. 18) at the Senate.

Salah Essa expressed his gratitude to Samdech Techo for the opportunity to meet alongside the other 10 honorary consuls. He also congratulated Samdech Techo on assuming the position of Senate President and acknowledged Cambodia's progress under his leadership as prime minister, as well as the current leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet.

During the meeting, Salah Essa affirmed his commitment to collaborating with the representatives of the 10 other honorary consuls to promote trade, economic development, and tourism between Cambodia and the 11 European countries. He expressed optimism about attracting investors from these nations to explore business opportunities and develop the tourism sector in Cambodia.

Salah Essa also praised Cambodia's stability and security, which he attributed to the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and the continued efforts of Prime Minister Hun Manet. He highlighted that these favourable conditions make Cambodia an attractive destination for tourism and investment from the 11 European countries.

For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his appreciation for the presence of delegations from the 11 European honorary consuls during their recent meeting. He conveyed his hope that this engagement would strengthen and expand the relationships between Cambodia and the 11 countries.

Samdech Techo underscored the importance of cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism between Cambodia and the 11 countries, highlighting Cambodia's desire for deeper collaboration in these areas. He underscored that beyond financial support, Cambodia's greatest wish is for capacity building—developing the skills and expertise of its human resources to support the country's long-term growth and development.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo also expressed his gratitude to Salah Essa and the representatives of the 10 other honorary consuls for their positive assessment of Cambodia's development, progress, and stability. He acknowledged their constructive remarks and reaffirmed Cambodia's commitment to working closely with the institutions and governments of the 11 countries to further enhance economic, trade, tourism, and investment cooperation.

Additionally, Samdech Techo shared his perspective on pressing global issues, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict and trade disputes, stressing the need for collaborative efforts to address these challenges for the benefit of both countries, the region, and the world.
