Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 18 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that the Royal Government is considering providing retirement benefits to elected sub-national administrative councils who have served for at least three mandates.

Meanwhile, regarding maternity leave for female council members, Samdech Thipadei stated that the Royal Government plans to implement this policy by the end of 2025 or early 2026. Additionally, he confirmed that the Prime Minister confirmed that allowances for village leaders will be further increased.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Mar. 18) during the Royal Government and Sub-national Administrations forum.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also emphasised the government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of civil servants, armed forces, and officials at the capital, provincial, district, commune, and village levels through annual increases in salaries and allowances.
